His tenure at Coopers & Lybrand, LLP in Baltimore saw him emerge as a leader, overseeing operations in the non-profit and financial domains. Leveraging this background, James established a thriving accounting practice, with two offices and a dedicated team, catering to a diverse clientele and aiding in their business development and growth.

His academic journey, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland in 1986 and a Master of Science in Taxation from American University in 2002, laid the groundwork for his successful career in public accounting. James' professional trajectory has been further enriched by hands-on experience across various sectors, including roles at the US Department of Education, Resnick, Fedder & Silverman, Coopers & Lybrand, Bell Atlantic, and Banner Life Insurance Company.

Beyond his professional endeavors, James is a devoted family man with two children, one serving in the United States Marines Security Forces and the other excelling in civil engineering at Stantec, specializing in urban wet weather management and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling.
