Two days of cloud infrastructure, AI, engineering, partner conversations, and new connections across the AWS ecosystem.
TGS Tech joined technology leaders, developers, infrastructure providers, and AWS partners at AWS Summit Washington, D.C. 2026, for two packed days of technical sessions, demonstrations, partner meetings, and conversations spanning artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, security, observability, data, and real-time systems.
For us, the Summit was especially timely. As development continues across AE CoCast, HeroEngine, and the Apex Engine ecosystem, many of the technologies and engineering challenges being discussed throughout the event closely intersect with the work already underway at TGS Tech.
Starting with AI
The Summit began for us with an invite-only Anthropic roundtable, offering a smaller setting before the broader event got underway. It was great meeting several of Anthropic's engineers and gaining valuable insight into how they are approaching the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
That conversation continued throughout the Summit. Across the show floor, we connected with teams and representatives from companies including OpenAI, AMD, IBM, Datadog, Snowflake, CrowdStrike, Spacelift, and others throughout the AWS ecosystem. The discussions covered far more than simply generative AI. Conversations touched on infrastructure, observability, security, data, development workflows, deployment, and the increasingly complex engineering required to move emerging technology from an impressive demonstration into something reliable enough for real-world use. Those are conversations TGS Tech follows closely.
AI is becoming an increasingly important part of modern software development, but the underlying engineering does not disappear. Architecture, networking, databases, performance, security, observability, and infrastructure still determine whether a system ultimately works.

From AI to the Infrastructure Behind It
One of the most interesting aspects of AWS Summit was seeing how closely AI discussions were tied to the infrastructure required to support them. AWS showcased physical compute and edge infrastructure alongside the software and cloud services most people associate with the platform. Seeing the hardware, networking, power systems, and supporting infrastructure up close was a useful reminder that every cloud service and AI workload ultimately depends on very real engineering underneath it.
That same principle applies to collaborative applications and real-time platforms. Whether the workload is AI inference, a distributed collaboration environment, a simulation, or a digital twin, reliability depends on what happens throughout the entire technology stack.
Digital Twins, Smart Infrastructure, and Apex Engine
Another standout exhibit was an interactive model representing a connected industrial and urban environment. The display illustrated how cloud-connected infrastructure can be monitored and represented across facilities, transportation, energy, and other systems.
For TGS Tech, that was particularly relevant. While Apex Engine has its roots in real-time 3D development, the broader platform is being designed for applications well beyond games, including AEC, civil infrastructure, simulation and training, digital twins, and smart-city environments.
Seeing those concepts represented physically on the Summit floor provided an interesting parallel to several of the areas we are already building toward with Apex Engine.
Observability, Security, Data, and the Systems Between Them
The Summit also provided opportunities for deeper conversations around the systems that sit behind modern applications.
At Datadog, discussions around observability and distributed systems touched on many of the challenges familiar to anyone developing real-time collaborative software: understanding what happens across services, tracking failures, identifying bottlenecks, and diagnosing problems that may span several components at once.
Conversations and exhibits from CrowdStrike brought security into that same picture, while Snowflake highlighted the increasingly important role of data infrastructure.
At AMD, discussions and demonstrations focused on the compute layer supporting modern AI and cloud workloads, while IBM presented approaches around AI-driven modernization and enterprise systems.
Taken together, those conversations reinforced something we see repeatedly in our own development work: modern platforms cannot be considered as isolated pieces. Compute, networking, security, data, observability, software architecture, and user experience all intersect.

Strengthening Our AWS Relationship
One of the most valuable parts of the Summit was connecting in person with Heath Turner, AWS Partner Territory Sales Manager for the Greater Washington, D.C. region. Heath has been helpful in getting several of TGS Tech's AWS program efforts moving, and the Summit provided an opportunity to continue those conversations directly. That includes work surrounding AWS Marketplace, AWS partner programs, and the broader support path for CoCast and the Apex Engine ecosystem.
TGS Tech is already participating in several AWS programs as we continue preparing CoCast for commercial deployment and expanding the infrastructure supporting our other products. Having the opportunity to work directly with people inside the AWS partner organization has helped us better understand how those programs can fit together as we move forward.
The Conversations Continued After the Summit
Some of the most productive conversations did not end when the exhibition floor closed. TGS Tech attended two separate post-Summit events across the two days.
The first was an AWS Post-Summit Networking Reception, co-hosted by AWS, Innovative Solutions, and TD SYNNEX. The smaller setting created an opportunity to continue conversations with members of the AWS organization and partner community outside the pace of the main conference.
A second evening event hosted by Spacelift brought together members of the infrastructure, developer tooling, and cloud engineering community.
Those events offered something different from the Summit floor itself. With more time for direct conversation, discussions could move beyond demonstrations and presentations into the practical realities of building, deploying, scaling, and supporting complex technology.
More Than an AI Conference
AI was everywhere at AWS Summit Washington, D.C., but one of the strongest takeaways was that AI itself is only part of the story. Behind every new AI capability is an increasingly sophisticated combination of compute, infrastructure, data, security, networking, observability, and software engineering. Those fundamentals remain just as important as they were before the current wave of AI development. For TGS Tech, that made this year's Summit particularly relevant. The technologies may continue changing rapidly, but many of the engineering questions remain familiar:
- How do we make systems reliable?
- How do we understand what happens when they fail?
- How do we make distributed applications perform consistently?
- How do we secure them?
- And how do we turn emerging technology into something people can depend on?
Those are the same questions guiding our work across AE CoCast and Apex Engine, and AWS Summit Washington, D.C. provided two valuable days of new insight, new connections, and continuing conversations as we move that work forward.
