September 2025 Dev Log: SecOps & Systems Prep
September Dev Log: SecOps & Systems Prep
September was a month of preparation and foundation-building for Apex Engine . A large part of our focus has been on the upcoming SOC 1, SOC 2, and ISO audits scheduled fto begin at the end of Q1 2026. These audits require a complete review of our infrastructure, documentation, and internal security procedures.
While this type of work often happens behind the scenes, it is critical to ensuring that Apex Engine is not only powerful and flexible, but also secure, reliable, and ready for large-scale adoption.
This focus on security and compliance aligns with our broader Apex Engine roadmap, which outlines the milestones ahead for the platform. Each step we complete now strengthens the foundation for the features, services, and scalability we are delivering over the coming year.
Meeting these standards is important for us as a company because it validates the quality and consistency of our practices. For our clients, it provides confidence that Apex Engine and the supporting platform meet industry expectations for data protection, compliance, and operational trust. These certifications are not just checkboxes, they are an assurance that the tools we are building today are aligned with the long-term needs of studios, enterprises, and institutions that will depend on Apex Engine for their projects.
1) Security & Compliance (SecOps)
This month we made significant progress on the groundwork for our compliance initiatives.
- Began structured testing and documentation work for SOC 1, SOC 2, and ISO requirements.
- Completed initial work on:
- Security & compliance management framework
- Internal information security policies
- Network, authentication, and client-server communications
- Server and infrastructure security
- Focused on server code cleanup and aligning practices with security and audit standards.
- Established a multi-month process that will continue through the end of the year, ensuring we are fully prepared ahead of our Q1 2026 audits.
2) Apex Engine & Platform Progress
Development this month centered on clean-up, audits, and preparing the foundation for next year’s feature development.
- Conducted design clean-up to streamline systems from earlier prototypes and testing.
- Advanced database upgrades and partial conversion, preparing for a DB engine transition in 2026.
- Completed audits and minor updates to:
- server structure and code,
- network structure code,
- Account Management System (AMS) for performance and reliability.
- Continued documentation of changes and updates, building a clear record to support both internal teams and external compliance.
3) Server & Website Security Updates
On the infrastructure and community side, September was about reinforcing security and finalizing platform features.
- Applied server and OS updates to strengthen stability and security.
- Upgraded and optimized core databases to support future growth.
- Implemented the final security updates across our web services.
- Moved forward with the Apex Community Hub, polishing UI design and preparing the last set of features to make the Hub more accessible and user-friendly for developers.
September was not about unveiling new features, but about strengthening the foundation that will allow Apex Engine to scale with confidence. By advancing our security, compliance, and optimization initiatives, we are positioning the platform to meet the highest standards expected by enterprise partners and global clients.
This work ensures that when new capabilities are rolled out, they will rest on a secure, reliable, and audit-ready foundation. These steps may be less visible, but they are essential in building resilience, trust, and long-term growth. The groundwork we are laying today is what will drive Apex Engine’s next stage of innovation, adoption, and market impact.
