TGS Tech at DC Tech Meetup #95: HealthTech Edition
DCTM #95 brought together founders, researchers, and technologists building the next generation of health technology in Washington, DC, while highlighting emerging collaborative platforms such as Apex Engine and the newly announced Apex CoCast.
On March 4, DC Tech Meetup hosted DCTM #95: HealthTech Edition at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, bringing together founders, researchers, technologists, and investors from across the Washington, DC region. The event focused on innovators shaping the future of healthcare while highlighting the broader technology ecosystem that supports emerging industries.
Among the featured attendees was Sarrene Miller, founder and CEO of TGS Tech. In its spotlight announcement, DC Tech Meetup highlighted Miller’s work leading the development of Apex Engine, a cloud-based collaborative environment designed for complex game and simulation development.
Apex CoCast
Building on the real-time collaborative foundation of Apex Engine, TGS Tech is now designing Apex CoCast, a multi-view desktop collaboration layer intended to eliminate the traditional “one-presenter bottleneck” common in remote workflows.
Instead of limiting collaboration to a single presenter controlling a shared screen, Apex CoCast is designedto allow multiple participants to contribute, present, and interactsimultaneously. The platform extends TGS Tech’s long-standingfocus on parallel, real-time systems and distributed development environments.
The concept also reflects the influence of conversations and feedback from previous DC Tech Meetup events. Following Miller’s earlier demo at DCTM #94, discussions around remote collaboration workflows helped reinforce the need for tools that support more dynamic, multi-participant interaction.
Local Innovators
DCTM #95 also showcased a strong group of innovators working across the health technology sector. Featured attendees included founders, researchers, and technologists developing solutions ranging from healthcare accessibility and clinical data systems to medical devices, biotechnology, and behavior-driven health platforms.
The event highlighted the work of individuals and organizations addressing complex challenges within healthcare while exploring new approaches to patient care, diagnostics, and data-driven health solutions.
By bringing together leaders from multiple areas of the healthcare and technology ecosystem, the meetup provided an opportunity for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and discussion around the future direction of healthtech innovation.
DC Entrepreneurship
Events like DC Tech Meetup play an important role in the regional startup ecosystem. They provide a space where entrepreneurs, technologists, investors, and researcherscan exchange ideas, explore new partnerships, and present emerging technologies to the broader community.
For TGS Tech, participating as a featured attendee reflects the company’s ongoing engagement with the Washington, DC innovation community. It also highlights the growing intersection between immersive technologies, collaborative platforms, and industries such as healthcare, simulation, training, and education.
As the DC startup ecosystem continues to grow, gatherings like DCTM #95 demonstrate how cross-industry collaboration can accelerate the development of new technologies and expand opportunities for founders and innovators across the region.
