Apex Engine Dev Log: 2024 December and 2024 Recap
Apex Engine Dev Log: 2024 December and 2024 Recap
December 2024 Progress
December’s work was focused on expanding the Account Management System (AMS) and User Access Control (UAC) for our clients. This included adding support for licensee/subscriber team management, as well as implementing basic team and permission functionality. These additions further strengthen our foundation for customizable user workflows, allowing our clients to manage their teams and permissions more efficiently.
We also introduced a new email and notification system, enhancing communication and updates for users within the platform. In addition, we began work on implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA) to further improve client security and ensure a robust, reliable user experience.
Another major milestone for December was achieving basic profile functionality. Profiles now sync successfully between the server and web client, which will provide a seamless experience for users between the client and website as we continue to build out these features.
Finally, we finalized the core functionality for Client-Side AMS and Group/Team Management, marking a significant achievement for December. This feature ensures robust team-based user control and sets the stage for further refinements in early 2025.
2024 Year in Review
As we close out 2024, we’re proud to reflect on the incredible progress made by the TGS Tech team. This year has been a foundational one for Apex Engine, as we focused on building critical systems, gathering client feedback, and laying the groundwork for future growth. Despite challenges along the way, the team’s resilience, innovation, and dedication have propelled us forward.
Here are some of the key highlights of the year:
- Client-Side AMS and Group/Team Management: Core functionality for the client-side AMS and group/team management was completed in December, providing a strong framework for customizable user and team-based workflows.
- Account Management System (AMS) and User Access Control: The foundational work for AMS and User Access Control was completed, providing the basis for customizable groups and permissions. Core database schemas were finalized, with plans for client feedback during the early access phase next year.
- Database Setup and Engine Schemas: We established and tested database schemas across various components of Apex Engine, ensuring a strong foundation for modular development and future updates. This effort has been instrumental in supporting both Apex Engine Lite and Apex Engine Cloud.
- Physics Engine R&D: Significant progress was made on researching and developing the physics engine, which will provide robust simulation capabilities, including collision detection, gravity, and object interactions.
- Apex3D Development: The Apex3D system has been advancing steadily, providing essential tools for managing assets, animations, and visual content. This system lays the foundation for high-quality 3D content integration and manipulation.
- Apex Animation Editor: We completed development on the Apex Animation Editor, a robust tool designed to simplify and streamline animation workflows for developers.
- UI/UX Design and Client-Side Tool-Set: Finalization of the required client-side tool-set style and functionality was achieved, ensuring a streamlined and intuitive experience for developers working with Apex Engine.
- Security Audits and Development: We prioritized security by implementing quarterly security audits and updates throughout the development process. This proactive approach ensures a safer, more reliable platform while allowing for faster, more consistent updates.
- AI Assist and Vector Databases: As we close out the year, our focus has shifted to researching and testing vector databases for AI Assist integrations. This is a crucial step to enhance model training, retraining updates, and ensure speed and efficiency while minimizing overhead costs.
- Research and Development on Database Solutions: Our team explored a variety of database solutions to meet diverse client needs. We will be offering cost-effective options for small to medium-sized businesses, alongside Oracle solutions for enterprise-level customers requiring high performance and customization.
Looking Ahead to 2025
With a strong foundation in place, 2025 is set to be an exciting year for Apex Engine. Early access programs will bring valuable feedback, and we will continue refining and expanding our tools to meet client needs. Our team remains committed to delivering an innovative, secure, and adaptable platform that empowers developers across industries.
Thank you to our clients, partners, and supporters for being part of this journey. We look forward to achieving even greater milestones together in the year ahead!
